Character Building

Some months before the event, we’ll open access to our character building system. With said tool, you’ll be able to customize your character to make it fully your own.

Each Cyberpunk character is based on three elements:

  • Tier One: It’s the core of your character,as seen on on theirTEASER;
  • Tier Two: Any TRAIT (from second tier traits);
  • Tier three: Any TRAIT (from third tier traits).

Teaser

TEASERS are a brief description of your character’s personality, their status among your group and their main role. The Teaser's purpose is then to give a general idea of your character’s main mission and motives during the event.

This is also your first building block of your character, defined as “Tier One”. It’s the most founding and distinguishing element for them, the most evident and certainly the one they’re known for.

Teaser example: Ratz, the Station barman. They’re the first person everyone meets arriving here and generally the last one too. He has seen it all,yes, literally. And he’s survived through it all. He doesn't talk much, right, but you can only guess how many secrets he’s learned through years and years of serving drinks. And that’s why,Choomba, it’s best if you lower your weapon, say that you’re sorry, walk away and never come back. But wait, I want to make sure you heard me right: NEVER. COME. BACK. That guy can cash in favors from powerful friends. You don’t want to mess with them, do you? "

Traits

TRAITS are additional elements to better shape your character.

They are hidden, non-visual elements, that will enrich your character and will grant you access to specifical adventures. They are, in fact, divided in specifical plotlines which will include you in a dedicated storyline,as follows:

Example: rumor has it in the Sprawl that a new, dangerous drug,which can drastically improve your combat skills is now available. A Fixer (Trait #1) is making huge profits from that and has employed a ruthless Ronin as a body guard.(Trait#2). A Runner (Tratto#3) recently lost one of their closest friends that suddenly died after taking that drug. He joined forces with a stubborn Hound so that he could find the truth...(Trait#4)

TRAITS are divided in Tier, respectively second and third.You’ll have to pick one from both tiers and by doing so you’ll be able to make your character truly unique: you will,for example,be able to take three CORP traits, or 2 CORP and a runner one, or even three different traits: it all depends on the kind of experience you’re ready to live!

Roles

Every TEASER and every TRAIT will be marked by a specific ROLE(Corp, Hound, Ronin, Media, Fixer, Celeb, Runner, Tek or Boss) which will specify what job/lifestyle/suicidal tendency your character has in the Future.

A combination from Roles (TEASER, based on your character choice, + TWO SECONDARY TRAITS, chosen at a later date), will result in the global character creation. You can either create a singular class character,dedicated to a specific role(e.g. Crop+2 Corp traits as secondary ones), multiclass character (Corp + Runner + Celeb) or anything in between (Corp + Corp + Runner)

Example: CASE is a character whose main role is to be the main Zerobytes Runner. The Player decides that he likes the role experience a lot and so he chooses two additional Runner traits. Case is now one of the best runners overall, with three missions regarding hacking and blocking intel traffic.
Example: RATZ is a character whose main role is to be the Iron Soul Fixer. Publicly, he works as a barman at Chiba Station. His player decides that he wants to expand his character personality: he decided that before his implants started malfunctioning, he was a special forces soldier. So he picks a Ronin trait. He also likes the idea that Ratz reinvented himself as a private detective: he’ll pick an additional Hound trait. Ratz is now a multi-talented character with three different missions and three different approaches.

Combination of roles (TEASER, based on your character choice, + TWO SECONDARY TRAITS, chosen at a later date) determines the kind of IMPLANTS your character can use.
Implants are the methods used to determine in-game skills of your characters.
Every Implant available in-game has minimum requirements (e.g.Corp1,Corp2 or Corp3): this number refers to a total amount of TRAITS related to that ROLE that a character needs to have to use it..

For example, a Corp2 Implant can only be used by characters with 2 Corp Roles (either coming from Teasers or secondary traits). A character that has Corp Teaser, and chose as first trait a Corp role and then Runner as his second, can still use said implant.

Nomads

In addition to 85 primary characters, there’s a special group composed of 14 light characters. These are the NOMADS, coming from Nemolands, effectively no-man's-land. They’re lighter characters that won’t have a fully detailed sheet; on the contrary, they’ll have a more group based approach to their creation. Their group will be well incorporated in Cyberpunk’s main plot and all of them will have their chance to make an impact on our global story.

Unlike our 85 primary characters, they will have no time constraints, (e.g. bound to arrive on Friday and stay until Sunday), so they’re perfect for those who will have any schedule issues.

Moreover, this group will act as fillers: in the event of cancellations during the last month before Cyberpunk , the newly available characters will be offered to Nomads with no price increase. Whoever decides to play a Nomad,then, has not only guarantee to play but also, with a bit of luck, to do so with a primary character!.

Mysterious Characters

There will also be 6 characters labeled as MYSTERIOUS. They will represent characters with a very peculiar gameplay: during the event they’ll receive special fate-plays directly from staff on actions they’ll be able to perform or to impact on the story. They all hide their true nature behind a facade, represented by a regular character. Once selected, players will be assigned one of said “regular looking” characters.
